Yves Stalder


Broadly speaking, my main research interests are combinatorial (and geometric) group theory and large-scale geometry. I am also interested in some connections with operator algebras, and with Polish groups.

I have been more specifically working on groups acting on trees (e.g. Baumslag-Solitar groups), the space of finitely generated groups, coarse embeddings in Hilbert and Banach spaces, weak forms of amenability like inner amenability and the Haagerup property, Kazdan's property (T),...

More recently, I am more specifically working on highly transitive actions, dense subgroups of some Polish groups, and on their connections with other properties of groups.
