Xavier Mininger was born in Strasbourg, France, in 1978. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Paris-XI University. He prepared his Ph.D. degree at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan, Cachan, France in the Systèmes et Applications des Technologies de l'Information et de l'Energie (SATIE) laboratory, and received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2005. In 2006, he got a position of Assistant Professor at the IUT of Cachan (Université Paris-Sud) and joined the Laboratoire de Génie Electrique de Paris (LGEP), now GeePs. He is currently Full Professor since 2013. His main research topics consist in the numerical modeling of multiphysic problems, involving models of active materials such as piezoelectric, magnetostrictive or magnetoelectric materials. He also studies vibrations and acoustic emission of electrical machines, and solutions to avoid such problems, especially for switched reluctance motors.
