Research topics

 My research activities fall under two thematic axes aiming at:

 (1) Determine the genetic architecture of complex poplar traits in order to use these genes (markers) in the selection programs developed in the unit on this model tree;

 (2) To study the diversity and genetic structure of black poplar populations.

 

Within the framework of European and national collaborative projects (EVOLTREE, Noveltree, GenTree), I have contributed significantly to the acquisition of whole genome sequence data, polymorphisms and genotyping to develop these two themes.

 Theme 1: I use association genetics and genetic mapping approaches based on the study of more or less complex pedigrees. One of the long-term objectives is to generate QTL effects information that can be used in breeding programs and serve to establish new models for genomic selection.

 Theme 2: I have been involved since 2004 in the description of the diversity and its structuring of black poplar populations at the French and European scale using molecular markers. This activity has grown with the development of high throughput sequencing and allows me to study more precisely the factors structuring the diversity of black poplar at the European scale.
