Stéphane Doncieux


I am Professeur des Universités (tenured) at the ISIR (Institute for Intelligent Systems and Robotics) at the UPMC, Paris, France and responsible of the AMAC research team that studies architectures and models of adaptation and cognition both from a robotics and computational neuroscience point of view.

My main research interest is to design learning and adaptation algorithms for robots to make them able to explore their capabilities on their own, to adapt their behavior to their environment, to solve simple problems and to build on their experience to be more efficient along time. My approach is mostly based on evolutionary algorithms for their ability to design structures and to optimize in multi-objective domains. Beyond robotics, I am also interested in optimization, design and analysis of complex computational models.
