RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
Research Interests
- Interoperable and sustainable SCM and logistics: horizontal collaboration, logistics pooling, interconnection of logistics networks, Physical Internet, distributed and decentralised logistics, collaboration mechanisms.
- Smart logistics: digitalization, IoT/ICT in logistics, digital connectivity, real-time decentralised optimisation, data driven intelligence, multi-agent systems.
Impact Areas
- Sustainable FMCG logistics: CO2 emissions reduction in freight transport, multimodal transport, freight routing, inventory control.
- City logistics: innovative solutions for city logistics, crowdshipping for last mile delivery, data-driven real time optimisation for transport planning.
- Revenue management: pricing decision, innovative trading mechanisms, new business models for logistics intermediaries.
Methodologies applied
- Optimisation approaches: MIP, CPLEX, metaheuristic algorithms.
- Simulation approaches: Discrete event simulation: multi-agent simulation (modelling on AnyLogic).
- Applied collaborative game theory and mechanism design theory: Gain sharing, Shapley Value, auction theory.
