Research Areas
My area of research concerns the analysis of the processes of urbanization and territorial development in the context of globalization, climate changes, and adaption in the post-soviet territories: South-Est Baltic, Siberia, The Arctic, and the Sub-Arctic regions, including the coastal zones. I am working also in Africa (coastal urbanization, Chad Lake, etc.), before in India. Geographic Analysis is based on the development and implementation of Earth Observation remote sensing monitoring systems and geo-simulations: multispectral, hyperspectral imagery, artificial intelligence, massive data image processing, multi-temporal geographic knowledge systems, GIS, etc.
