Area of activity

My work concerns large-scale observation and experimentation systems of terrestrial and marine (agro)ecosystems and information systems and the dissemination of biodiversity knowledge coupled with them. I am particularly interested in new methods of data mining and data representation in the form of graphs. This formalization of knowledge makes it possible to envisage the use of new methods to analyze heterogeneous data, to propose scientific questions emerging from the data (and not the reverse, which is the classical scientific approach), and to make Scenario proposals dependent on contextual variables that can be used in the area of decision support. I wish to continue to invest in the development of multidisciplinary research programs and partnerships involving scientists and public actors. FAIR data management and open science addict and "Data Management Plan with FAIR Compliance" evangelizer.

Recent and ongoing research programs

Ongoing

  • ISIDORe (Integrated Services for Infectious Diseases Outbreak Research) aims to increase EU’s responsiveness and preparedness to any epidemic threats by providing an impressive range of innovative, high quality services to all scientific User communities with projects in the field of high-consequence pathogens. The ISIDORe consortium represents the biggest research instrument dedicated to the study of high consequence pathogens ever set up. Following the HERA’s incubator call for expressions of interest on SARS‑CoV_2 variants, the ERINHA-led project ISIDORe (Integrated Services for Infectious Disease Outbreak Research) was selected as one of the first Horizon Europe actions. The ISIDORe consortium includes 154 participants from 32 countries worldwide and will contribute to research efforts on the SARS-CoV-2 variants and any other epidemic-prone pathogen, by assembling an integrated and complementary portfolio of state-of-the-art, cutting-edge services for the benefit of the scientific community. (under CE grant agreement 101046133)
  • By-COVID: The world has generated vast amounts of data in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and is still generating more. This data comes from many different sources, and identifying, connecting and integrating it for effective analysis remains a challenge. The BeYond-COVID project aims to make COVID-19 data accessible to scientists in laboratories but also to anyone who can use it, such as medical staff in hospitals or government officials. Going beyond SARS-CoV-2 data, the project will provide a framework for making data from other infectious diseases open and accessible to everyone. (under CE grant agreement 101046203
  • QUAMPO (QUAlité des Milieux côtiers POrtuaire en Haute-Corse) is developing an innovative method for monitoring water quality based on ecotoxicology techniques for measuring biomarkers in invertebrates and developing tools for port managers.
  • EOSC Life - EOSC-Life brings together the 13 Biological and Medical ‘ESFRI’ research infrastructures (BMS RIs) to create an open, digital and collaborative space for biological and medical research. The project will publish ‘FAIR’ data and a catalogue of services provided by participating RIs for the management, storage and reuse of data in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
  • PARSEC - The PARSEC project is designed to provide a unique opportunity for data and synthesis scientists to collaborate and exchange in real-time toward the goal of improving research outcomes, data sharing, and data reuse. It will also help pioneer new scientific and data science technologies aimed at improving both the management and conservation of global biodiversity.
  • Foosin - project is working to facilitate the progressive implementation of FAIR principles by data managers and producers in agriculture and agri-food. Improved data management will facilitate interdisciplinarity and reproducibility of work while reducing data duplication. We are particularly interested in the application of FAIR principles to semantic resources (ontologies, thesauri…) which are themselves key elements for making data more FAIR (Principle I2).
  • TRAFIC - Areas of potential high-interaction between marine traffic and marine mammals in French West Indies: this project aims at improving the knowledge on the pressure of maritime activities on the marine environment in the Caribbean Sea. In particular, a master internship focuses on studying the spatiotemporal co-occurrence between marine traffic and cetaceans.
