Présentation
**Biography:**
Rodolphe Vaillon (Male, 1970, PhD University of Poitiers, France, 1996) is a senior scientist (Directeur de Recherche ~ Full Professor) at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and a member of the team "Photonics" at LAAS-CNRS (Laboratoire d'Analyse et d'Architecture des Systèmes, Toulouse) since November 2023. His current main research interests are the development of thermophotovoltaic devices, the thermal behavior of solar cells, and nanoscale thermal radiation. Before joining LAAS-CNRS, he was with the Institute of Electronics and Systems (IES, University of Montpellier, France, 01-2019 to 10-2023), and previously with the Centre for Energy and Thermal Sciences of Lyon (1998-2018). He was the team-leader of the ‘’Micro and Nano Heat Transfer’’ (MiNT) group (15 researchers on average) from August 2011 to January 2016. He was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Kentucky, USA (6 months over the period 2002-2009), at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg, Germany (3 months in 2009), and at the University of Utah, USA (2 years, 2016-2017, W.W. Clyde Visiting Chair in 2016). He was a Visiting Professor at the Instituto de Energia Solar, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Spain, in 2018. He was an Associate Editor of the Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, Elsevier (2009-2020). He is a member of the Board of Editors of Solar Energy Materials and Solar Cells, Elsevier (2022-...). He is a member of the Scientific Council of ICHMT (2013-…) and regularly the member of Scientific Committees of international conferences (e.g. NanoRad, Eurotherm MNHT; CTRPM series, TPV-x series). He was the co-chairman and co-organizer of Eurotherm 103 (Micro and Nanoscale Heat Transfer IV, Lyon, Oct. 2014), and the main organizer of a Symposium on thermophotovoltaics which took place at the Spring E-MRS conference in 2021 (online). He is used to coordinate projects and teams of researchers. He is the author of more than 110 peer-reviewed papers (> 70 in international journals), more than 120 communications or scientific reports, 2 patents, 5 book chapters, and 1 book (O. Dupré, R. Vaillon, M.A. Green) on the thermal behavior of photovoltaic devices.
