Présentation

#### **Research engineer** ##### *Communities’ dynamics and functioning & Observatories and information systems* **Ir. Régis Hocdé** is research engineer (IR HC) at the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD) working in the ‘MARine Biodiversity, Exploitation and Conservation’ research unit (MARBEC Univ Montpellier, CNRS, Ifremer, IRD, Montpellier, France). His expertise lies in the oceanography and marine biodiversity, observatory systems and data science. He is also a scientific diver and a deep diver expert with closed-circuit-rebreather. He managed the development of efficient infrastructures for managing large and diverse data sets, standards, interoperable information systems, services and tools. He was a ‘research infrastructures and observatories’ national expert for his institute (IRD - French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development), the French authorities (MESRI, AllEnvi, FRB…) and some European organizations (ESFRI, GBIF…). He designed and is co-PI of the national observation service "SNO ReefTEMPS" on the Pacific Island coastal ocean (https://www.reeftemps.science/) and is member of the executive committee of the French National Coastal Research Infrastructure ILICO (MESRI CNRS IFREMER IRD). He is currently involved (as co-PI) in different international programs (‘ReefTemps’ sensors network in South and West Pacific, ‘Lengguru’ in West Papua Indonesia and ‘Megafauna’ on the global ocean) at the crossroads of ecology and marine biology, scientific and omic data production and analysis (including eDNA), observation systems and data dissemination management. it also develops instruments and methods adapted to the study of the mesophotic zone, in particular for environmental DNA (Labcom DiageDNA). He is now PI of the new International Joint Laboratory: "SEntinel LAboratory of the indonesian MArine biodiversiTy (SELAMAT)" lead by the RCO-BRIN and MARBEC-IRD. **IRD** ‐ French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development [www.ird.fr](http://www.ird.fr) **MARBEC** research unit : MARine Biodiversity, Exploitation and Conservation.
