Mes travaux de recherche ont pour objet la modélisation des activités cognitives engagées dans l'enseignement dans leurs dimensions liées à l'action et à la connaissance, avec une focalisation particulière sur la planification (préparation de cours). Cela implique la mise au point de modèles cognitifs informatisés, qui sont ensuite testés, soit en les comparant à l'activité réelle d'enseignants, soit en étudiant le comportement d'enseignants utilisant des logiciels dans lesquels ces modèles ont été implémentés. Ces modèles sont principalement fondés sur l'analyse de la sémantique latente (LSA), une méthode statistique d'analyse de corpus textuels. Cette méthode, appliquée à divers types de corpus (observations, interactions, connaissances enseignées), permet de simuler des processus d'appariement sémantique, de compréhension, d'utilisation de stratégies et d'acquisition de connaissances.

Ma question de recherche principale est : comment modéliser et assister les activités cognitives de l'enseignant ? Je l'ai mise en œuvre par les problématiques suivantes :

  • Quelles sont les capacités cognitives nécessaires et suffisantes mises en œuvre dans l'enseignement ? (Dessus, 20052008)
  • Comment les enseignants planifient-ils à partir des schémas et routines d'action qu'ils ont acquis par l'expérience ? (Dessus, 1995c)
  • Est-il possible de formuler des méthodes d'instructional design permettant la création de nouveaux outils cognitifs ? (Dessus, 2006)
  • Quels effets sur l'enseignement et l'apprentissage peuvent être induits par l'utilisation d'outils cognitifs ? Par exemple :
    • LookCum 2.0, un système d'observation et d'analyse de l'enseignement en situation (Dessus, 2007)
    • Apex, un système d'aide à la révision de cours (Dessus & Lemaire, 2002)
