Thèmes de recherche

Le thème central de mes recherches passées et présentes est l’étude du comportement des polluants dans les milieux pollués, en particulier dans les sols et les nappes phréatiques, et les eaux de surface en Camargue. Les polluants incluaient des composés chimiques utilisés à grande échelle (dérivés du pétrole, additifs d’essence, herbicides, …) ainsi que des composés inorganiques. Cela a impliqué et implique un travail à différentes échelles spatiales et de temps, du bassin versant à l’échelle microscopique, d’études ponctuelles à des cycles d’observation de plusieurs années.

 

Les principaux buts de ces travaux portent sur 4 aspects : 1) l’acquisition d’une connaissance approfondie du transport et comportement des composés dans différents contextes hydro-chimiques et hydrogéologiques, 2) l’évaluation du risque encouru par l’Homme et les eaux souterraines dans l’éventualité d’une augmentation de la charge polluante, 3) le développement des nouvelles techniques d’investigation et monitoring, en particulier les isotopes stables, et enfin 4) le choix, le test et l’application de techniques de remédiation pour réduire le risque.
