Nathalie FABRY’s recent research focuses on the ability of territories to fix, in the long run, actors and socioeconomic activities. She is studying the attractiveness of destinations stressing on the role of institutions, on networks and clusters. She is studying the way a destination may develop through tourism. In particular, she stresses on tourism clusters, on the process that paved the way to cluster (the clusterization process) and on the stakeholder's involvements. She more recently works on smart cities, smart tourism and smart destination. The tourism being considered from now on as a structuring economic activity for territories and a ground of the digital transformation, her research is mainly centered on " territorial economic intelligence "
She rules the Departement IFIS at the UPEM. She is in charge of a Master's degree in tourism studies specialized in Meeting an Event industry and in Luxury Hospitality at the Université Paris-Est Marne-la-Vallée (France). She is an active member of the “Cluster de Tourisme du Val d’Europe”.
