**PhD candidate of Geography and Environmental Sciences** Aix-Marseille University, ED 355 "Espaces Cultures Sociétés" CNRS UMR ESPACE 7300 Aix-en Provence, France **Introduction** My area of research focuses on the interactions between urban land use and the estimation of the stock of organic carbon in urban environments. The research methods are based on knowledge-based interpretations of remote sensing data (image analysis, multi-temporal analysis, land use change, geosimulation, spatial analysis) and soil science (soil organic carbon).
