Michel VISALLI is a research engineer at INRAE (National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment). Holder of a Master's degree in computer science and statistics and a doctorate in food science, he designs experimental devices and develops innovative methods and software for the acquisition and analysis of data relating to food perception and consumer’s behavior. Michel Visalli designs experimental devices and develops innovative methods and software for the acquisition and analysis of data relating to consumer perception and eating behaviour. He is more specifically interested in temporal sensory measurements, indirect measurements of preferences, measurements of food supplies and consumptions and use of natural language for the characterization of expectations, representations and perceptions of foods. He aims to make possible the large-scale collection of data relating to the different dimensions of food under ecological conditions of consumption, and to make these data available to the scientific community (FAIR principles). Ultimately, this work aims to study the role of taste in consumer choices. He leads the “Software engineering, statistics and data science” component within ChemoSens.
