Marlène Perignon est ingénieure de recherche en nutrition et santé publique au sein de l'UMR MoISA (Montpellier Interdisciplinary center on Sustainable Agri-food systems) à Montpellier. Ses travaux de recherche portent sur la sécurité nutritionnelle et l'alimentation durable. Elle travaille principalement sur l'étude des leviers d'amélioration de la durabilité de l'alimentation par des approches épidémiologiques (évaluation de la qualité nutritionnelle et de l'impact environnemental des consommations alimentaires individuelles; étude des relations entre l’environnement alimentaire des populations et la durabilité de leurs pratiques d'approvisionnements alimentaires), des approches de modélisation (optimisation de rations alimentaires sous contraintes pour étudier la compatibilité des dimensions de l'alimentation durable et identifier des choix alimentaires permettant de concilier qualité nutritionnelle, réduction de l'impact environnemental, accessibilité économique et acceptabilité culturelle) et l'évaluation d'impact d'interventions visant à promouvoir des pratiques alimentaires plus durables.
