Présentation

Conduites dans une perspective sociologique et historique, mes recherches portent sur **l'industrialisation de l'agriculture et de l'alimentation**. J'étudie les transformations des systèmes de production agroalimentaires et m'intéresse aux investissements économiques, scientifiques, techniques et politiques qui les soutiennent. Je travaille également sur les critiques et les régulations dont ces transformations font l'objet, et sur la manière dont les acteurs économiques et leurs organisations y répondent. J'aborde ces questions à travers plusieurs enquêtes, dont la principale porte aujourd'hui sur **l'industrialisation de l'élevage porcin en France, de la fin du 19e siècle jusqu'à aujourd'hui**. En prenant pour point d’entrée les évolutions des conditions de vie des porcs, j’analyse comment ont été développées des infrastructures techniques et économiques permettant d’élever et de commercialiser des animaux à grande échelle et quels types de réponses ont été apportées aux problèmes et aux critiques provoqués par ces transformations (vulnérabilisation économique des éleveurs, problèmes sanitaires et environnementaux, dégradation du bien-être des animaux). My research focuses on the **industrialisation of agriculture and food**, from a sociological and historical perspective. I study contemporary transformations in agri-food production systems and am interested in the economic, scientific, technical and political investments that underpin them. I also work on the criticisms and regulations to which these changes are subjected I am exploring these issues through various research projects, the main one focusing on the **industrialisation of pig farming in France from the end of the 19th century to the present day**. Starting with the changes in the living conditions of pigs, I analyse how technical and economic infrastructures have been developed to enable large-scale breeding and marketing of animals, and what kind of responses have been made to the problems and criticisms caused by these changes (economic vulnerabilisation of farmers, health and environmental problems, degradation of animal welfare...).
