Présentation

*Pharmaceutical doctor (Université de Reims 2002) and Doctor of Sciences (Université Paris-Descartes 2006), Lise Musset has been studying the mechanisms of resistance to antimalarial drugs and their evolution for 15 years. Since her arrival in French Guiana, she develops projects related to the Amazonian territory. Her team identified a phenomenon of natural reversion of resistance to chloroquine in French Guiana, seven years after the withdrawal of this molecule (Pelleau et al., 2015, PNAS) and characterized the selection of artemisinin resistance in Guyana (Mathieu et al., 2020, eLife). Her areas of interest relate to i) understanding the mechanisms of resistance, ii) identifying the associated genetic factors, iii) developing or evaluating new diagnostic methods, and iv) understanding the transmission of malaria in French Guiana. These projects benefit on extensive experience in genetics and cell biology and aim to enhance malaria control and elimination in the region.*
