- Research project: analysis of the diagenetic processes occuring for prehistoric mammoth ivories and bones (artefacts dating from the Aurignacian that is 45 000 to 35 000 years BP) and determination of potential chemical proxies
- Measurement of a corpus of mammoth ivory and bone samples by XRF, XAS at the PUMA beamline and by PIXE, PIGE and RBS at the New AGLAE accelerator (C2RMF)
- Data treatment and analysis, comparison of XRF and PIXE mappings
- Proposition of a new methodology to use and to take advantage of the complementarities of the PUMA beamline and the New AGLAE accelerator toward the heritage science research community
- Support of different research users groups to carry out their experiment at the PUMA beamline as a local contact (advice, training and support during the full duration of the allowed beamtime that is 6 consecutive days)
- Research project: experimentally confirm the potential of electromagnetic surface waves (surface phonon-polaritons) for the heat transport at the nanoscale
- Fabrication by dry oxidation of very thin (few tens of nm) and large (area of a few mm2) suspended glass thin films
- Control of the purity of the samples by X-EDS analysis
- Measurement of the thermal properties by two experimental methods (3omega and transient grating methods): rise of more than 50% of the glass thermal properties in the case of a suspended thin film
- Validation of the theoretical model previously developped with the experimental data
- Organization of radiative heat transfer and scientific english seminars for japanese and international students
- Obtaining grants from the japanese government (JSPS Kakenhi program) and by the japanese research for optical science and technology
- Managing bachelor and master japanese students during their research projects
- Research project: theoretically and experimentally prove the existence of electromagnetic surface waves (surface phonon-polaritons) in glass microtubes
- Development of an analytical and numerical (FDTD) model to predict the propagation of these waves in a circular geometry
- Design of an experiment to measure the thermal radiation emitted by a heated glass microtube through an IR microscope coupled with a FTIR spectrometer
- Teaching of experimental projects consisting in fabricating thin films and in analyzing their structure and surface through the joined use of a SEM (enabling X-EDS analysis), a X-ray diffractometer and an Auger spectrometer to first year engineering school students
