I study the social production of public space, with fieldwork in Mexico City, Paris and Los Angeles. I focus on the spatial dimensions of popular and/or informal practices and on public policies about street trade, walking and mobilities, wall communication (street art, graffiti and advertisement), etc. I hold a PhD in Cultural Geography from Université Paris-4 Sorbonne (1992). I used to work and live in Mexico City (1988-1991; 2001-2005), Toulouse (France, 1992-2001), Los Angeles (Getty Scholar, 1996-1997). I was invited professor at the University of Geneva, Swizterland (2010) and the University of Caldas, Colombia (Doctoral Program in Territorial Studies, 2011-2015).
