Présentation

I work as a researcher in the TNR axis (Thermal Nanoscale and Radiation) Institute Pprime Poitiers. This axis is led by Younès Ezzahri (MCF, HDR). I have great expertise in the control of thermal radiation with micro-nanostructured materials. I obtained my PhD from the University of Nantes in December 2007. I was hired as associate Porfessor of the University of Poitiers in September 2008. My work focuses on the modeling and optimization of thermal radiation of micro / nanostructured materials as well as the experimental characterization of their radiative properties. This research activity targets different applications for converting or controlling thermal radiation. In particular, I have developed and optimized spectrally coherent thermal sources that allow better control of thermal radiation to improve the efficiency of Thermo-Photovoltaic (TPV) systems. This design of radiative thermal sources, using optimization tools such as genetic algorithms or particle swarms, has made it possible to highlight the possibility of significantly increasing the efficiency of TPV systems. This ability to modify and control the spectral nature of the thermal radiation of nano / micro structured objects has also made it possible to study the temperature behavior of micrometric gratings etched on polar materials supporting surface waves, which can generate coherent thermal sources ( Silicon Carbide for example). Another area of research concerns the optimization of structures associating stacks of thin layers with surface gratings for passive radiative cooling applications. I obtained ANR JCJC funding on this subject in July 2017. The other important theme of my research is the design of radiative diode and transistor. Thermal rectification is an asymmetry of the heat flux exchanged when the temperature gradient between two interacting thermal reservoirs is reversed. A non-zero rectification means that an inversion of the thermal gradient induces, in addition to the reversal of the direction of the heat flow, a variation of the magnitude of the exchanged flow. The realization of systems with this property has allowed the development of thermal logic circuits in the same way that non-linear electronic components, the diode for example, have marked the emergence of modern electronics.
