Présentation

My career has been done both at CNRS (Nancy and Orsay) and at University in Nancy France. I have also made post doc/ sabbatical stays in UC Berkeley and Uni Bielefeld and Freiburg in Germany and Uni Neuchâtel in Swittzerland. I am now an emeritus Professor at Université de Lorraine and Institut Universitaire de France. I have formerly taught plant biology, biochemistry and molecular biology. My research was aimed at characterizing at the molecular level the redox regulatory mechanisms controlling the rate of photosynthesis. Together with my groups at CNRS and then U Lorraine we have participated to the characterization of the ferredoxin-thioredoxin system and the structural analysis of the redox regulatory enzymes. Later developments concerned glutaredoxins and their functions as electron donors for peroxidases and methionine sulfoxide reductases and then in the synthesis and assembly of iron sulfur centers into apoproteins. I have also held a number of administrative positions , having been in particular the first director of the pôle scientifique A2F at University of Lorraine. Concerning editorial work I am the current Series Editor of Advances in Botanical Research, having served as a Series Editor from volume 66, presently at anniversary volume 100.
