Présentation
Jacques Pothier is an emeritus professor in American Literature at the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin en Yvelines/Université Paris-Saclay and at Sciences Po St Germain-en-Laye.
His research is in Southern Studies, area studies, transfer studies and the "Global South". He has published on Southern Literature: William Faulkner, Flannery O'Connor, Ellen Douglas, Cormac McCarthy..., including books on Faulkner and Flannery O'Connor. He contributed to the scholarly translation of Faulkner's complete works for La Pléiade. He is a member of the European Southern Studies Forum of the EAAS and a former president of the French Association for American Studies.
He is the current president of the MICEFA <micefa.org>, a consortium of most of the universities of the Paris region, promoting cultural and scientific cooperation between France and English-speaking North America.
