Ignacio Requena-Ruiz

Ignacio Requena-Ruiz est Maître de conférences à l’ENSA Nantes en théorie et pratique de la conception architecturale et urbaine depuis 2014, architecte (2006) et docteur en architecture (2011). Recherche --------- Ses recherches portent sur les dimensions techniques, culturelles et sensibles des climats en architecture depuis la modernité jusqu’à nos jours. Ignacio a été lauréat de la Bourse de recherche de la Fondation Le Corbusier (2014) ainsi que des Postdoctorats Internationaux de la Région Pays de la Loire (2013). Il est coordinateur scientifique du projet Coolscapes - L’espace urbain climatisé : perspectives techniques, spatiales et culturelles (2018-2022) financé par l’ANR. De plus, il participe à des projets de recherche interdisciplinaires : Holi-D - Horizon des littoraux en déclassement (2017-2020), Smart French (2016-2018), L’éternel été chez-soi (2015-2016), L’accompagnement des projets d’auto-réhabilitation par les magasins de bricolage (2014-2015), Le Corbusier and André Missenard: from artificial climates to bioclimatic architecture (2013-14). Il est co-rédacteur en chef de la revue Ambiances et expert pour Journal of Architecture and Urbanism et Frontiers of Architectural Research. Enseignement ------------ A l’ENSA Nantes, Ignacio enseigne la théorie et la pratique de la conception architecturale et urbaine, notamment en rapport aux ambiances architecturales et urbaines. Il codirige le studio de 2e année Under Construction, le séminaire de recherche Ambiances : références, dispositifs, effets et le workshop intensif Ambiances et Formes Urbaines. Il enseigne également auprès des élevés ingénieurs, architectes ou managers dans le Master Ville et Environnements Urbains (Centrale Nantes – ENSA Nantes), l’option Ville Numérique (Centrale Nantes) et le Mastère APTE (Audencia-Centrale Nantes).

Ignacio Requena-Ruiz is an Associate Professor in architectural theory and design studio at the ENSA Nantes since 2014, Architect (2006) and PhD in architecture (2011). Research -------- Ignacio's research works deals with the technical, sensory and cultural dimensions of architectural climates since the early 20th century to the current day. He has been awarded with a research fellowship from the Fondation Le Corbusier (2014) and has also held a post-doctoral research fellowship from the Region Pays de la Loire (2013). He is principal investigator of the project Coolscapes (2018-2022), funded by the French national research agency ANR. He is involved in a number of collaborative and interdisciplinary initiatives and projects, including: Holi-D (2017-2020), Smart French (2016-2018), L’éternel été chez-soi (2015-2017), Accompanying self-refurbishers projects by DIY stores (2014-2015), Le Corbusier and André Missenard: from artificial climates to bioclimatic architecture (2013-14). Ignacio serves as a member of the Editorial Board of the Ambiances journal and as a reviewer for the Journal of Architecture and Urbanism and Frontiers of Architectural Research. Lecturing --------- At ENSA Nantes, Ignacio teaches on design studio and architectural theory focused on Architectural and Urban Atmospheres. He runs the 2nd year B.Arch core studio Under Construction, the M.Arch research seminar Ambiances: references, devices, effects and the workshop Ambiances and Urban Forms. He also runs interdisciplinary teaching for engineering, architecture and management students in the Master City and Urban Environments (Centrale Nantes – ENSA Nantes), the specialisation Digital City (Centrale Nantes) and the Master APTE (Audencia-Centrale Nantes).
