H. NAJI's succinct biography
H. Naji is a tenured Professor of Civil & Mechanical Engineering at Artois University (France). He received his undergraduate and graduate education in the Mechanical Engineering Department of Lille University (France). Following research engineer at the CNRS (Scientific Research National Center) and Assistant Professor positions at Rouen University & INSA, Rouen, France, he joined Polytech'lille (Lille University's graduate School of Engineers) as an Associate Professor until 2010, and then moved to the Artois University. He was a Scientific Council member of Lille University, member of the National Council of Universities (CNU), France and a Visiting Researcher at the Reacting Gas Dynamics Laboratory (1987 - 1988), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA 02139, USA under a NATO grant. He is now a member of the Scientific Council of Artois University (“Hauts de France” region). Prof. Naji holds a Ph.D. in Physical Sciences from Lille University (France) and an M.Sc. in Thermal-Fluid Sciences from the National Polytechnic Institute of Lorraine (INPL), Nancy, France. His research and skills focus on Fluid Mechanics and Turbulence, Thermal-Fluid Sciences and Engineering, Advanced Heat Transfer, Numerical Methods for Multi-Scale Simulations (mesoscopic and macroscopic approaches) and Numerical and Modelling tools' development. Besides his academic duties (undergraduate and graduate teaching, projects supervision, PhD theses supervision, etc.), he is (co-)author of more than 250 publications in peer-reviewed journals (especially from Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Springer, etc.), conferences and book chapters, and is a fellow of various institutes and professional societies (e.g. the American Society of Thermal and Fluids Engineers (ASTFE), the French Association of Mechanics, the Thermal French Society). He is regularly invited as keynote speaker at national and international conferences and has delivered keynote talks. He was born in Casablanca, Morocco.
