A partir de corpus vidéos, je cherche à mettre en relation des informations exprimées par les locuteurs dans différentes modalités : la modalité verbale (principalement à travers la syntaxe et l’organisation du discours), la modalité vocale (prosodie) et la modalité visuelle (gestualité/images). Je m’intéresse plus particulièrement à la question du focus et à la structure de l’information en termes de pragmatique de l’interaction. Plus récemment, j'ai été amenée à travailler sur de la parole pathologique (aphasie) toujours dans un cadre d'analyse multimodale. De 2007 à 2012, j’ai participé à deux projets ANR portant sur la constitution et l’annotation de corpus de français de référence, l’un étant orienté vers la prosodie et la syntaxe, l’autre vers un traitement multimodal des données. Des conventions d’annotation ont été adoptées et le processus d’annotation lui-même est en cours. Actuellement, dans le cadre du programme « Conférences de recherche trinationales », développé par la Fondation allemande pour la recherche (DFG), la Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH) et la Villa Vigoni en Italie, je participe au projet de recherche conjoint de Florence Oloff (Université de Mannheim, Allemagne), Heike Bauldauf (ENS Lyon) et Sara Merlino (Université de Rome, Italie). Ce projet s'intitule « Aux frontières de la langue parlée : Pratiques de reformulation et recherches de mot dans une perspective cross-linguistique et multimodale » (2023-2025) et regroupe une dizaine de chercheurs français et internationaux. Professor in English Linguistics Department of English Studies &amp; FoReLLIS Laboratory University of Poitiers <gaelle.ferre@univ-poitiers.fr> Research topics --------------- My research interest lies in the multimodal analysis of French and English. Drawing from video corpora, I seek relationships between the information expressed in different modalities in the message structure : the verbal modality (mainly through syntax and discourse analysis), the vocal modality (prosody) and the visual modality (gesture/image content). I am particularly interested in information structure in interactional pragmatics and the notion of focus. From 2007 to 2012, I was involved in 2 nationally-funded projects on the constitution and annotation of reference corpora in French. Whereas one of them focuses on prosody and syntax, the second is oriented towards the multimodal processing of data. Annotation conventions have been established and the annotation process has started. These annotations enable researchers to find out how pieces of information encoded by speakers at different levels work together in the message structure.
