Permanent Scientist (CRCN) at the CNRS, I’m a Brazilian researcher with master and PhD degrees by Universidade Federal de São Paulo, Brazil, being a former post-doctoral fellow in the same university and in the Institut Cochin, Paris, France. *Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches* (HDR) degree granted by Université Paris Cité. I investigate the mechanisms of pathogen persistence in host cells, focused on immunology and cell biology of the interplay between myeloid cells and the intracellular pathogens such as *Leishmania* spp., HIV and SARS-COV-2. My aim is to tackle pathogen persistence in myeloid cells in order to devise therapeutic strategies for the improvement of the quality of life of people chronically infected by persistent pathogens and ultimately to contribute for the achievement of a cure for these persistent infections.
