I am Associate Professor at the Centre for processes, renewable energies and energy systems of Mines ParisTech, in France. My research interests focus on operations (control, scheduling, and planning) of distributed storage and energy resources for fully sustainable power grids.
Current duties. Research: I am a principal investigator in the H2020 Innovation Action XFLEX - "flexibility fo hydropower" and in the research project EVA (on the integration of autonomous electric vehicles). Teaching: I teach renewable energy systems to postgraduate students. Deputy manager of post-master course ALEF in "International Energy Management".
Current PhD students. Supervised: Mr. Stefano Cassano (ParisTech, 2019 - ongoing), Mr. Biswarup Mukherjee (ParisTech, 2020 - ongoing). Cosupervised: Ms. Yihui Zuo (EPFL, 2017 - ongoing), Mr. Mohsen Kalantar (EPFL, 2017 - ongoing), Mr. Rahul Gupta (EPFL, 2019 - ongoing).
Service to the profession. I serve in the technical program committees of the Power Systems Computation Conference (PSCC) and SmartGridCOMM. I regularly act as a reviewer for most important international journals and conferences in my field, and as an evaluator of research projects.
Previous appointements. Scientist with the Supply of Electricity Program of ETHZ (Switzerland) in 2018, Guest Scientist at NREL (USA) in 2018, Post-doctoral fellow at EPFL (Switzerland) from 2014 to 2017.
Education. Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in 2014. M.Eng. in Computer Engineering from the University of Genova (Italy) in 2010.
