A dedicated scientist passionate for neurophysics and neurosciences

I have focused the last ten years of my career on learning how best to implement computational methods in neurology and psychiatry. Having a background in Physics, a master's in Biomedical Sciences and a Ph.D. in Medical Pathophysiology, my research was a pioneer in Brazil on employing functional connectivity MRI in epilepsy. However, to pursue my ambitions of enhancing the understanding of the mind's complexity, I have been mining neuroimaging-informed phenotypes in many other diseases and syndromes. Nowadays, I’m eager to comprehend why people kill themselves? I’m convinced that suicide is a distinct socio-neuropsychiatry disorder (i.e. not part of other pathological conditions) triggered by the psychological dimension of pain.
