Présentation
My research project deals with the whole **geographic information chain, from data collection to results, and is grounded in cross-disciplinary**. It aims to use GIS as a tool for capitalizing and sharing geospatial knowledge on territory, by enhancing its interoperability (standards, descriptive model, shared vocabulary), developing methods to facilitate the use of heterogeneous data (data collection protocol, data fusion), multi-scale analysis and geovisualization (spatial and statistical analysis, common manipulation language to query and display the geodata), and coupling with model simulation and forecasting tools.
This means overcoming issues relating to spatial concepts (description of the objects manipulated and represented, scale effects integration), the design and architecture of software platforms (database, web services, etc.) and also the role of users (access criteria, tool ergonomics, information readability, participation mechanisms, etc.).
I'm developing a global approach that integrates theoretical, conceptual aspects as well as tools. My aim is to conduct research **WITH** but also **ON GIS**.
The thematic scope of my research project is primarily concerned with the **spatialization of climate and environmental issues and their impacts**. This is a key requirement to enable managers to identify vulnerabilities, but also to establish strategic and operational tools to address adaptation and mitigation issues.
