Emilie Stoll

Emilie Stoll est chargée de recherche en anthropologie sociale au CNRS. Son équipe de recherche est l'UMR 8053 (Laboratoire Caribéen de Sciences Sociales - LC2S) à l'Université des Antilles. Elle est également collaboratrice du Centro de Documentação Historica do Baixo Amazonas de l'Université Fédérale de l'Ouest du Para, à Santarém (Brésil) ainsi que chercheur associée à l'UMR 208 (Patrimoines locaux, environnement et globalisation - PALOC) au Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle de Paris. Ses travaux de recherche, en Amazonie brésilienne, se situent à l'intersection de l'anthropologie américaniste (étude des groupes amérindiens d'Amérique du Sud), de l'anthropologie de la transmission (étude des migrations sur le temps long et construction du lien au sol) et de l'anthropologie de la nature (perception des dynamiques paysagères, rapports entre humains et non-humains). Docteure de l'Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes en anthropologie (directeur de thèse : Patrick Menget) et docteure de l'Université Fédérale du Pará (Brésil) en Sciences de l'environnement (directeur de thèse : Roberto Araújo), Emilie Stoll a soutenu sa thèse en 2014 sur les rivalités entre parents et voisins, en Amazonie brésilienne, au sujet de positionnements identitaires concurrents, en contexte multiculturel. Emilie Stoll is a researcher in Social Anthropology at the French National Center for Scientifi Research (CNRS). Her research team is UMR 8053 (Carribean Laboratory in Social Sciences - LC2S) at the Université des Antilles. She is also a collaborator of the Centro de Documentação Historica do Baixo Amazonas of the Federal University of Western Para, in Santarém (Brazil) as well as an associate researcher at UMR 208 (Local Heritage, E,vironment and Globalization - PALOC) at the National Museum of Natural History, in Paris. Her research, conducted in the Brazilian Amazon, is at the intersection of Americanist anthropology (study of Amerindian groups in South America), the anthropology of transmission (study of long-term migrations and construction of land grounding) and the anthropology of nature (perception of landscape dynamics, relationships between humans and non-humans). She has also begun a comparative study of the relationship to the ground bond by descendants of migrants in the US Midwest (Ohio State).
