He is a member of the INRA-AgroParisTech Joint Research Unit in Public Economics as a graduate engineer in the Department of Social Sciences, Agriculture, Food and the Environment at INRA. He served at the National University of Côte d'Ivoire as a Volunteer of the French National Service from 1980 to 1982 and from 1982 to 1992 as a Technical Assistant of the French Cooperation, creating an exploratory data analysis unit for research and university teaching. In 1992, he joined INRA as head of the information technology service at the social science research station in Ivry sur Seine (France), organising and developing a computer and network service, shared by four research units involved in the economy of food consumption and agro-industrial processing. In 1995, he was seconded to the Agriculture Division of the Business Statistics Directorate of INSEE, collaborating on the establishment of a spatial zoning of agriculture in the Burgundy region. From 1996 to 2012, seconded to the Statistics and Forecasting Service of the French Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, he contributed as a senior analyst to the management and development of the French Farm Accountancy Data Network, creating during this period the "José Rey" seminar, a series of scientific conferences on agricultural production for the Ministry's executives. Joining the Joint Research Unit of Public Economics in 2007, he contributes to the definition and research of the FACEPA project on the Estimation of Agricultural Production Costs for the Design of Public Policies within the framework of the 7th Research and Development Programme of the European Union, as well as to the European Research Network TRUSTEE on Consensus Building for Ecosystem Services. He is currently involved in the PEERLESS (Valuation of Ecosystem Services) project of the National Research Agency, ASSETS (Valuation of Ecosystem Services in Agro-ecosystems in Transition) of the LabEX BASC of Paris Saclay University, and ASSESS (Assessment of the Economic Cost of Erosion) for the European Research Network MED (Euro-Mediterranean Cooperation). ### Other career elements Vermeil Medal 2021 of the French Academy of Agriculture ; French representative on the ICT and Society Technical Committee of the International Federation for Information Processing ; Expert for the European Commission on the 7th Joint Research and Development Programme (Sustainable production and management of biological resources from land, forest and aquatic environments") since 2010; Expert-trainer for the Phare programme (Poland & Hungary Action for the Restructuring of the Economy) of the European Commission in Bulgaria (2000-2004); for Adrao (Association for the Development of Rice Growing in West Africa, CGIAR, Bouaké, RCI) in 2002 and for the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (ICDD-European Commission, Wageningen) in 2001 and 2002 ; the Regional Observatory of Employment, Training and Qualifications of Nancy, in 1999; for the Institute of Economic and Social Research in 1994; the Association of Partially or Entirely French-Speaking Universities in 1993; the International Centre for Pure and Applied Mathematics in 1991; Member of the INRA's Commission for the Evaluation of Engineers (MTO - development of methods, techniques and tools) from 2007 to 2012, and from 2015 to date ; Evaluator of articles for the journals Tiers-Monde (2007), Advances in Data Analysis and Classification (2015, 2019) and Economie rurale (2016) ; Lecturer in Data Analysis in the ACTERRA Master 2 at SupAgro Dijon, from 2010 to 2012 and Gestion du Vivant et Stratégies Patrimoniales at the Institut national agronomique de Paris-Grignon from 2000 to 2011.
