David SERERO, Phd, Architect and researcher


David Serero is a Doctor of Architectural Sciences and lecturer at the National School of Architecture Paris-Val de Seine (ENSAPVS) and co-director of the Architecture & Intelligences Chair (EVCAU Laboratory). He is also director of the architecture office SERERO Architects & Urbanists (SAU), an office specializing in the construction of university buildings for the transmission of knowledge and for research laboratories. He is a former Scholar of the Fulbright program and the french Academy in Rome - Villa Medicis.

His work focuses on the analysis and critical use of space data for architectural and urban design, and is particularly interested in the issues of energy, urban mobility, digital design (parametric and intelligent agents ) in order to bring out new organizational models for cities. The data generated by a connected space or by its construction process is a new source for the work of architects with multiple ramifications.

He coordinates the IDSA network: Intelligence, Data, Spatialization & Architecture, a Scientific Thematic Network with P. Terracol and participates in national and european research programs, such as New European Bauhaus, to rethink a "carbon-free" design for housing building in Europe. He is scientific director of the Architecture & Intelligences meetings, an international conference on Architecture and artificial intelligence.

Since 2020, he further develops his thesis work with an HDR entitled "Thinking architecture in the data age" presenting the progress of his work on digital architectural design and improving energy use and production by buildings.
