Pr. Christophe COQUELET


Professor of chemical engineering at Mines Paris Tech and director of Centre of Thermodynamics of Processes (CTP).

 

Thermodynamics and particularly phase diagrams determination are essential in chemical Engineering. My main thematic  of research concerns the definition of phase diagram and determination of thermophysical properties for industrial processes. Phase diagram are determined considering thermodynamic models. In order to define these models experimental work is needed (development of procedure). It concerns VLE, VLLE, LLE, SLE, densities, heat capacity, etc..

After my studies in ENSIACET (1998) and ENS Cachan (1999), I have done my PhD at Mines Paristech (2003). After that I have started working in the CEP/TEP laboratory as research engineer. In 2007 I was nominated as deputy director of the laboratory and director in 2009. In 2008, I obtained my qualification (HDR) to be PhD director (French Diploma). Also, in 2010 I was nominated as Honorary Professor at the University of Kwazulu Natal in Durban.

I am author or co-author of more than 150 publications or congress presentations.

My main activities are:

Oil and gas engineering (acid gas removal)

CO2 capture, transport, storage and valuation

Energy efficiency: determination of thermophysical properties of working fluids

Chemistry and green chemistry

Cryogenic

Supercritical fluids, etc...

 

Member of the thermodynamic group of the French Society of Process Engineering (SFGP).
