Cécile Swiatek, academic libraries manager, France

Cécile Swiatek is Secretary General for the French academic library managers association (ADBU) and Deputy Director at the Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas academic library in Paris, in France. Particularly involved with pedagogy and HE digital innovation, she is also in charge of Law, Economics, Management and Journalism collections and users’ training at the Paris II university. Before that, she was Collection manager in Medicine Science and Technology and head of medical and computer science research sections at the BUPMC (now Sorbonne-Université academic library). Since 2006, she is engaged on collections management and on both professional training and users Information Literacy training. In 2014 she was part of the IFLA national committee for Cfibd ( Cécile Swiatek is a Board member at ADBU ( and LIBER, the Research Libraries European League ( She is an active member at ABF (, and is involved in Open Education WG at SparcEurope and with the UNESCO.
