Lecturer in cognitive psychology at INSPE, Université Grenoble-Alpes, I work on: - typical and atypical cognitive and linguistic development in young children ; - the evaluation of contextual effects on academic and professional learning. The aim of my research has been to clarify the contribution of early education training to the cognitive and linguistic development of school-age children. I collaborated on two longitudinal follow-ups of very young pupils in Réseaux d'Education Prioritaire schools, evaluated on several occasions (Paour et al, Aix en Provence; Bianco et al, Grenoble). We compared the effects of different types of intervention in kindergarten (metaphonological training, training in comprehension strategies, training in self-control) on language acquisition and entry into writing in the Cours Préparatoire. I have also collaborated on studies that take into account the gestural dimension of language acquisition in dysphasic and typically developing children. We have studied the role played by gestures and other covert signs (facial mimics, changes in posture and gaze) in the development of language production behaviors such as narration and explanation. I am gradually moving into another field of research, that of psychosocial well-being at work, and am studying the impact of a school or professional occupation on the physical and psychological health of children, adolescents and young adults. My studies are conducted in collaboration with the International Labour Organization in Geneva, and focus on populations living in extreme poverty in developing countries (Asia, Africa).
