MAIN RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

B. Le Pioufle have been working since 1997 on the conception of bio-medical purpose microsystems. His main scientific concerns are 1) the conception of microfluidic biochips for the monitoring of membrane proteins and ion channels and 2) cell biochips. He spent 4 years at University of Tokyo, in the groups of H. Fujita, then in the group of S. Takeuchi. He was Director of LIMMS (International laboratory between CNRS and University of Tokyo). He  worked in collaboration with S. Takeuchi on the conception of parallelized biochips for the screening on transmembrane molecules. He is also working on biochips for the cell analysis and treatment. He is working on cell handling on a chip using dielectrophoresis, cell electroporation on a chip, microfluidics, surface functionalization of biochips. The main projects on which he has been working are 1) the study and conception of highly parallelized cell biochips for analysis (high throughput screening) or treatment (gene transfection on a chip)  2) the study and conception of biochips for ex-vivo (on a chip) analysis of physiological models 3) the design of biochips designed for the delivery of high amplitude  electrical nanosecond pulses for the treatment of cells.
