AgroParisTech Department of Agronomy, Forestry, Water and Environment Engineering (SIAFEE) 22 place de l'Agronomie, CS 20040, F-91123 PALAISEAU cedex bruno.lemaire@agroparistech.fr Anthropized Inland Hydrosystems research unit (INRAE / HYCAR) 1 rue Pierre-Gilles de Gennes, CS 10030, F-92761 ANTONY cedex +33 (0)1 40 96 60 70 After studying physics at the Ecole Normale Supérieure up to the doctorate, an experimental study of the organisational properties of mineral liquid crystals, and further training as a water and environmental engineer at Ecole des Ponts ParisTech, Bruno Lemaire worked on the planning of sea ports and waterways at the Ministry of Transport (now CEREMA, 2004-2008). Since 2008, he has been teaching hydrology at AgroParisTech: stormwater management, flood protection, irrigation reservoirs, hydromorphological restoration, water reuse. Until his habilitation to supervise research, his work at the Water, Environment and Urban Systems Laboratory focused on the physical and biogeochemical functioning of water bodies, for water quality monitoring and warning. Since 2020, he has been working at the INRAE research unit Hydrosystèmes continentaux anthropisées, where he is developing a system for measuring the turbulent exchange of dissolved substances at the bottom of aquatic environments, a project initiated as an AgreenSkills fellow at the University of Koblenz-Landau. His research focuses more generally on water bodies within their catchment areas, in particular on the hydrological impact of reservoirs and the treatment of agricultural drainage water by wetland buffers, both of which are addressed by modelling.
