Research main interest Integrated Power Management : topic covers many issues related to converters' topologies to control strategy, physical implementation (microelectronics, multi-physical measurements), electromagnetic interference or 3D approach with studies related to packaging as well as interconnection options or passive devices. Design methodology, energy efficiency and seamless integration are key targets.
Background Bruno Allard received an engineering degree in Electrical Engineering with major in microelectroinics and a PhD in microelectronics from INSA de Lyon.
PhD, a long time ago
PhD research was performed in Laboratoire des Composants de Puissance et Application at INSA Lyon with European Research financial support. Main topic was modeling of bipolar devices using a bond-graph-based approach.
Positions B. Allard held a post-doctoral position at EPFL before accessing an Assistant-Professor position at INSA Lyon, Department of Electrical Engineering. He was confirmed as Assistant-Professor and took a position of Full Professor in 2007. He initiated research about integration of power management in laboratoire CEGELY, INSA Lyon. His main research interests are at the junction between semiconductor integration, circuits, power electronics and power management.
Duties
Bruno Allard was appointed as Head Manager of Ampere-lab for its site at INSA Lyon in 2005. His was elected Deputy-Director of Ampere-lab in 2015 and elected Director of the lab for the period 2016-2020.
