Andrea Michiorri received his Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Energy at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’ in 2005. He then obtained a PhD from the University of Durham in 2010 with a dissertation on the thermal state estimation of power system components, research awarded at the 2010 UK IET Engineering Awards. He is currently an associate professor at Center for Processes, Renewable Energies and Energy Systems (PERSEE) of MINES-ParisTech in Sophia Antipolis, France, working on the integration of renewable resources and distributed generators into the power system, with a particular attention to the aspects of decision making under uncertainty.
