Alain Duplouy

Alain Duplouy a été formé à Bruxelles et à Paris dans des traditions très différentes. Docteur en histoire et en archéologie, il enseigne l’archéologie grecque à l’Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne depuis 2003. Il obtient son Habilitation à diriger des recherches en 2017. Il a également été British Academy Visiting Fellow à l’Université de Leeds (2009), Fulbright Scholar à l’Université de Californie, Los Angeles (2011), Fellow in Hellenic Studies à Harvard (2018/19), Adjunct Professor (2021) puis Alliance Visiting Professor à Columbia University (2022). En 2024, il sera Getty Villa scholar à Los Angeles. Spécialiste de la Grèce archaïque et auteurs de nombreuses publications sur le sujet, il a notamment publié *Le Prestige des élites* (2006) et *Construire la Cité* (2019) ; il a également coédité le volume *Defining citizenship in archaic Greece* (2018) et les actes du colloque *La Lucanie entre deux mers: Archéologie et patrimoine* (2019). Co-directeur du master [Patrimoine et musées](https://patrimoine-et-musees.pantheonsorbonne.fr), il est également coordinateur de plusieurs projets européens au sein de l'Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne : [Ancient Cities](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxLaX7Dae-9jLpWo1BZluMw), [Lands of Meaning](https://landsofmeaning.pantheonsorbonne.fr) et [Reframing Heritage Education in Egypt](http://re-heed.edu.eg). Il fait également partie du comité de pilotage du domaine [Cultural Heritage](https://www.una-europa.eu/) de UNA Europa. Après avoir mené des recherches archéologiques en Grèce (Itanos) et en Italie (Laos), il co-dirige actuellement le [chantier archéologique franco-allemand de Pietragalla](https://pietragallaproject.eu/) (Basilicate). Il est également responsable du projet [AGIAs](http://agias.huma-num.fr/), qui vise à l'étude et à la valorisation des antiquités grecques de l'Institut d'art et d'archéologie, et du programme de recherche sur la [Lucanie antique](http://lucanie-antique.pantheonsorbonne.fr).

Alain Duplouy was trained in Brussels and Paris in very different traditions. After conducting archaeological research in Greece (Itanos) and Italy (Laos), he is currently co-directing the [Franco-German archaeological exploration of Pietragalla](http://pietragallaproject.eu/index.php/fr/monte-torretta-di-pietragalla/) (Basilicata). He is also responsible for the [AGIAs](http://agias.huma-num.fr) project, which aims to study and valorise the Greek antiquities of the Institute of Art and Archaeology in Paris, and for the research programme on [Ancient Lucania](http://lucanie-antique.pantheonsorbonne.fr).
