Research topics

Soft tissue biomechanics: experimentation and modeling

  • simulation of wave propagation into soft tissues for a better post-processing of elastography measurements;
  • development of experimental set-ups for the mechanical characterization of soft tissues in-vitro (e.g. respiratory tissues).

Simulation of cardiovascular surgery for a better planning:

  • simulation of tools navigation in endovascular surgery: estimation of vascular deformations, evaluation of the risk of complications;
  • simulation of lower-extremity arteries angioplasty
